Having support is crucial to growth. I’ve been working on myself a lot over this last year. Realizing that being stagnant and closed off isn’t healthy for me or my partnership. But it started with me. I wanted more for myself. I communicate my needs and feelings more clearly. I set limits and enforce boundaries in my familial relationships so they don’t crowd my headspace and weigh me down. I take breaks BEFORE I start to crack. I’ve found so many community, lay and professional resources to help with stress, parenting, spousal support and medical needs. These things have tremendously improved my partnership with my husband because they’ve helped me. I am still a work in progress, so is he; therefore so are we. Growth is not the same for everyone and it will look different.
